IOE on the 727, pulled the throttles to idle at 30 feet!! Heard the engineer audibly gasp, captain say "not yet!", then put a crater into the runway at DEN. That's what you get for starting in the window seat!
I thought I'd try a VMC Cat IIIa from the right seat without the HGS by using the associated instruments. It never dawned on me that I wouldn't have the flare cue like in the HUD. You bounce pretty high hitting at 750 fpm.
