C5 Resolution:No Confidence vote NC
2, July 2022
Council 5 Resolution.
No Confidence vote and removal of the UAL Negotiating Committee Leadership.
Whereas, The UALMEC Negotiating Committee has been in section 6 negotiations with the company for more than 4 years.
Whereas, The recent TA that Negotiating Committee presented doesn’t conform to the direction and expectations of the membership.
Whereas, The Negotiating Committee has recently argued for the benefit of the company’s position to assuage the pilots to vote in favor of the TA while ignoring and misrepresenting the concessionary aspects of the TA during the town hall virtual meetings.
Whereas, The Negotiating Committee has admonished, criticized and condemned ALPA members in good standing for exploiting the “loop holes” in the current agreement, while promoting the needs of the company above that of the United Pilots.
Whereas, The Negotiating Committee has recently shown a propensity to justify and promote the company’s bargaining position at the town hall meetings while downplaying and withholding the adverse aspects of the TA and insidiously attaching LOA’S that continue to erode the quality of life issues of the United Pilots at a later date.
Whereas, The polling data from the pilots is more than 6 years old and the Negotiating Committee failed to address the “true concerns” of the United Pilots and appears “out of touch” with the realities of the line pilot.
Therefore be it resolved, A vote of “NO CONFIDENCE” is justified and thereby submitted for the direction of the MEC to use all means necessary to remove those current Negotiating Committee members that have been representing the Pilots of United Airlines at the bargaining table.
Be it further resolved, That a MORATORIUM of ALL negotiations, including and not limited to AIP, TA, LOA and MOU’S until such time that new pilot data polling is compiled, processed and determined for the new bargaining direction that reflects the current needs and demands of the United Airlines Pilots.
Respectfully Submitted,
Michael J Boccher
Captain United Airlines
