you'll understand once you're in this industry for a bit, it is hard to explain for somebody new to it. The LIMFAC is not the fact RPA is losing trips, it's the fact they are losing CAs at an alarming rate (along with every other regional). That means there are more than enough FOs to cover the trips that all the CAs available can cover which means being used less on FO reserve. The good news is that there are more green days where you can drop reserve days and pick up trips in open time or the trade boards.
The company cannot afford to stop hiring FOs because they still need CAs and really the only reliable way to get CAs is to have enough FOs stay that will upgrade. They are trying to force that through sheer numbers.
Also don't listen to CFI. He is a newb that doesn't understand the industry. He still thinks the most important thing about any airline is first year FO pay.
