Both groups agreed to a set of terms when they joined the profession. Now, one group wants to change those terms to benefit themselves. That is the difference.
When it got moved to 65 …. the argument…. IN FAVOR…. by ALAPA…. was that it’s not a one sided benefit because if it gets moved to a later age…. everyone Junior will ALSO get to fly till the later date. Moving in the opposite direction (younger…. Not that anyone is proposing that) would have a truly one sided benefit.
itd be interested to find an ALPA communication in support of the 60-65 jump from back in the day, replace it with 65 - 68 or whatever and put it out there just for the benefit of those who weren’t flying yet to see how ALPA “sold” it.
