EXACTLY!
This was the wisest, and most legal step the MEC could have taken. The TA horse has left the barn, and now it’s up to the Pilots; if it passes it’s on us. How the TA got past the MEC will remain a problem to be addressed via the recall vehicle. The ratification responsibility rest solely with the Membership at this point.
Of course I’ll be roasted for this, but the MEC gets my respect for this message as they didn’t try to sell the TA; in fact, they actively stopped selling it last week.
Regarding this TA, we are where we are, irregardless of emotion. If it passes, it will be because our Pilot group passed it. If the TA fails, it will be because we rejected it.
Let’s fail this thing simply on its merits, or lack thereof. Once the TA threat is neutralized, then we hold leadership responsible for placing us in this position.
