Effective soldiers don’t cry about why they were placed in a bad fighting position while the enemy is trying to kill them.
This TA is our primary threat. Kill it. After next week, sack the Generals.

Great Post. Perfect analogy.
We are where we are. Pilots are pilots, we stabilize the aircraft (Vote NO), use our resources, communicate effectively and take corrective action. In order to do everything that needs to be done, we must first stabilize the aircraft!
The below is the ORD council 12 update. The not so subtle message is that the only path forward to make the necessary changes is through voting on the TA. Make no mistake, without an overwelhming NO vote (win the battle) we will lose our ability to make all of the other changes we need to make to ultimately win the war from the analogy above. We do that the way soldiers always have done that, Unity and Resolve. Communicate with your more junior soldiers, let them know we have each other's backs and that we will come out of this battle better equiped to win the war.
There is no need for Neville Chamberlain at this point, we have more than enough fight left in us and all the advantages a group could ever hope for. Our ultimate victory is gained through our unity, our strength, and using the leverage we have, not by agreeing again to "get em next time."
The vote must show that the troops are ready for battle, then we can get some Generals assigned for the remainder of the war.
Vote NO and then educate those around the reasons they need to vote NO as well!

A Message From Your Council Officers
During Special MEC meeting on July 7th your Council Officers joined the rest of the MEC and unanimously agreed that the Tentative Agreement ballot will remain open through the originally planned closing date of Friday, July 15th.
Our opinion remains that this agreement is a bad deal. Our CON statement explains our reasoning. If you haven’t already done so, it is imperative that you vote.
We see two potential outcomes:
The TA passes - the message to the company is that this TA reflects what we believe we are worth.
The TA fails - a new starting point is created for an agreement that we know we deserve.History tells us that the best outcomes occur when pilots are unified and resolute. We will accomplish this through an overwhelming turn out; one that expresses the will of the pilots with unambiguous clarity.
ALPA President Joe DePete recently stated, “We are in the best negotiating environment in the history of ALPA with the most leverage of our careers.”
Vote.
In Unity,
Wendy, Phil and Lisa
