My only complaint about new hires is the ones who were sold a bunch of BS by the recruiters and came here with unreasonable expectations about bases, being home every night, reserve, and what it's really like to work here. They're miserable to fly with and it makes a for a long day. Everyone says I'm too negative here but I try to keep it real so that anyone who comes here knows exactly what they're getting into. If you make that choice I don't want to hear you b1tchin' because you didn't do your research.
I have found the new hires to be pleasant and darn good pilots for the most part. I was skeptical at first when I saw the hiring bonanza that we would find ourselves with some less than competent pilots, but it hasn’t been like that at all.
Many of the new hires are far more comfortable in the AB than a lot of the senior pilots were during the transition from MD to AB…
