Why would C5 get any 175's? C5 is shrinking every day just like every other regional. How would they be able to staff it better than any other current operator of the 175?
It's pretty hard to have a crystal ball here. Every network carrier is basically in triage mode with their regional partners. What these networks look like in 5 years is anybody's guess.
My instinct says United will prioritize 76 seaters as they are forced to park everything else for lack of crews. Will they attempt to consolidate all of those aircraft on a single certificate? Who knows.
This career has always been about luck and timing. This massive hiring wave doesn't change that. Some pilots will end up with rapid career progression and some for a variety of reasons will not. Trying to game which regional is going to go out of business first is a fool's errand.
