Franke already said before they "sweetened" the deal last time that the offer was fair and he wasn't paying more.

You might be right on this one. When I did a meet and greet with Frontier they were talking about market disruption and such. If Spirit merges with JetBlue then Frontier will be the only ULCC and will be able to expand into different marketplaces. I have no idea if Frontier has bowed out already, but the constant delays of the vote has got to e frustrating for everyone involved.
