The most senior FO would probably be bypassing for whatever reason instead of bidding captain. If they weren't qualified, that's too bad. I'm sure street captains do not take all available positions. They are used as a stop gap because of the lack of qualified FOs. Originally Posted by CALPilotToo

Union or non wouldn't matter. I upgraded at Eagle and flew with FOs who were senior to me and ****ed because they were waiting to hold a line/base/etc and the bids stopped. Take the seat when you can.
