I assume they are exaggerating how often that happens but is the schedule really superior at purple? I always assumed the brown/purple differences were pretty minimal.
I believe the difference stems from Standard operating practices, Brown likes to run lean on pilots and give JAs(Not sure how that's saving then money), so being short staffed plus squeezing everyone's schedules with the optimizer gives you the result of deteriorated QOL...long duty dates, short layovers, multiple segments per duty period.
