What airline is getting a new contract in this environment in less than 3 years?? For those who though this would be less than 3 years y’all are super naive. Nothing has been a surprise.

The union negotiating committee is committed and hard working but also dreadfully inexperienced. No one on our side has ever been in section 6 negotiations (including our lawyer). Plus, Management’s playbook is to slow play and stall negotiations so we get a raise in 2025 at the earliest. Anybody who actually thought we’d get a deal done soon is naive.

AR won’t pass rates or compensation until UA or AA get a TA ratified because of the leapfrogging that happened last time we were the first to agree and then got left in the dust. Exco doesn’t want a deal done soon and neither does management. This whole dog and pony show was to try and get through the summer and wait for the recession to hit. Honestly at this point management probably got what they wanted.

All the ops issues we’ve had have been caused by flight attendants not pilots. Management is probably more focused on flight attendant getting done because that will help the operation more than pilot pay and it will cost a fraction.
