TA gives away augmented FBO too.
Under the TA an FBO'd pilot doesn't have the option to stay home. The company can modify FO roles. You get 100% add pay or vacation days for being modified to IRO. Currently we also have the option to stay home or pick up premium pay. The vacation provision is absolutely worthless since they only pay 3 days vacation (3.25hr/day) for a 3 day trip, and it takes 5 or 6 days of vacation to drop a typical 3 day trip.
5-I-5-c When training, checking or IOE is conducted on an augmented Flight, the Company may modify First Officer roles on the Flight. The Flying First Officer whose role is modified by the Company to a Relief Pilot position shall receive 100% Add Pay of the Trip’s scheduled pay value. However, at his option he may elect to receive a vacation credit day for each day of the Trip, in lieu of the Add Pay; the Company must be notified of this election within twenty-four (24) hours of the completion of the Trip. The Flying First Officer whose role is modified to a Relief Pilot position must be advised of the role change at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the report time of the Trip by either two-way contact or by messages noting the role change at all provided contact phone numbers; he may waive the twenty-four (24) hour requirement. This provision shall in no way limit the Company’s ability to FBO a Trip according to the provisions in Section 20-Q-15
