Legacy airline isn’t a slang term for “big airline with widebodies”. There are actually specific criteria to be designated a legacy carrier. Most people just quote the part of the definition about existing prior to deregulation, but there’s more to it. So, bonus points if you can tell the class why Southwest, although in existence prior to dereg, is NOT a legacy.
