There are some very real, very valid reasons that union business is conducted in organized meetings.
First, it provides transparency and a venue for ALL MEMBERS to attend and debate. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't lack of transparency part of the "Karen's against the TA" crowd? Yet here they are being as secretive as they can be in order to get their way. Classy.
Second, conducting union business in the union hall guarantees that union members are debating the issues and making policy. This merry band of nitwits that have popped up with nothing but anger and very little else, could very well be .... well, anyone and with any agenda. ALPA hating scabs, sure. Flight office special assignments, maybe. Corporate Comm, that's a reach. The Russians? You get the point. To me, if you want to operate in the shadows expect to have ZERO credibility, I'll through my two cents in here and that's all it's worth. But when you're trying to circumvent the agreed upon protocol of how business in the union is conducted, then I take issue. If I was trying to fracture ALPA in an attempt to have it implode and get decertified, this line of behavior is an excellent start. I'll show up at the meeting and say my peace, anything else is just noise.
Third, the union hall offers a wide latitude on protected speech. Looking through these threads there is SO much ammo for a hostile flight office and HR rep to go after and I assure you that forum is not as nearly as anonymous as you might think.
I don't disagree with the recall effort, but the way some on this board are trying to proceed is childish, amateurish, misguided, and frankly embarrassing.
Perfect. Hopefully all the nitwits fail and their “childish, amateurish, misguided, and frankly embarrassing” fail and we can await 2.0
