I doubt that. I'm in my class of over 25 guys/gals at CHQ most had well over 1000 hrs ( a couple over 3K) and most were previous 121/135 guys and X military. I guess they do that since we actually fly the AC at CHQ rather than watch it fly.

ATP mins for the 170 used to be true when the program first started. That is no longer the case. The general consensus is that CHQ training is more difficult due to the volumes of memory items and limitations that you are required to learn as well as the tendency to quiz you on "trivia" during orals. The 170 program is much simpler in terms of memorization and is usually considered "easier" for that reason. There are also several CHQ check airmen who have a reputation for trying to make checkrides impossible. You'll get through either one, but there is a distinct cultural difference between the certificates. We are still on one seniority list though and need to work as one.
