Really though, if they were having a conflict that could negatively affect safety, isn't this a good decision to make? I'd rather have this happen, than a serious error happen because they weren't getting along. It's a long flight and if he felt he wasn't safe to complete it with his FO because of a personal conflict, how can anyone disagree with his decision?
I still don't know who made the PA and told the passengers about conflict but that seems to be the only moment of questionable judgement.
