I'd bet that it would be done by going through Anchorage. Anchorage - Shanghai clocks in at around 9 hours, so it could be done with a three-pilot crew just as we're currently doing with our European flying. And maybe Maersk has other ideas involving mid-Pacific hops.
You’re not gonna overnight. I know a couple companies do manage to overnight in a few select locations in China, but believe me you don’t want that. It’s currently done by doing anchorage-incheon. Then Incheon - china stop - anchorage. You’ll have the fuel to do it….but the china stops can turn a 3 hr scheduled turn time into 8 with frequency. Maybe that delay puts you right into the airport closure window and you sit a few more hours. Usually scheduled around 12 hrs block and 18ish duty. If you get stuck like that in China the company will ask if you’d like to extend your duty day beyond CBA limits. And what option do you have? Don’t know how those logistics could work for you.
