This is pure anti-union garbage. The unions aren't driving this. This is purely the fault of the airlines. Of course, I'm not surprised that that clown thinks the unions are the bad guys here.
Classic political/management behavior.

This has been predicted for a decade. Airlines could’ve made investments into training pipelines in 2010-2015 and they’d be all set up and ready to go now. Instead, they chose to kick the can until the last possible second and hoped to change the rules instead of face the music.
