If anything, the pilot shortage is more acute today than it was 15 years ago.
What makes it different is that as time ICAO had already approved the increase.
This time, if it passes (it won't), the most senior pilots, who are most likely to be on WB international, won't be allowed to fly internationally.
For those who say ICAO will have to follow the US, the track record of the world thumbing their nose at the US is pretty long over the last few years. The USA is now seen as the Florida of the world. Nobody cares what we think.
