This is my fear. They come out a couple weeks ago said they weren’t close to getting the votes. Maybe they knew they were 5-10 percent away and spent the last 2 weeks making bribes and cutting deals… trying to steal it at the last second before B6 can counter. I think it’s unlikely but possible.

I think it's almost the opposite of what you fear. I believe the votes aren't there, and F9 and NK are ready to just let the vote fail and move on. Based on JB's silence, which wasn't their style previously, I believe they have an agreement with NK ready to be signed upon vote failure. Just my read, maybe tomorrow we will finally get an answer.

So if that is the case JetBlue still has to deal with the anti-trust trial in September over their Northeast Alliance with American. Any idea how long a trial like that would last? I googled it and saw that sometimes these things go on for years. Also, with Spirit opening bases in Houston, Atlanta, and Miami, would it be a fair assessment that they are covering their bases in case the merger with either JetBlue and Frontier falls apart? This is all out of my area of expertise and just guesses on my part though.
