Assuming the deal closes tomorrow for the sake of this question, and it takes 2-3 years to reach an new contract with seniority list integration etc. During the period the NK pilots will be earning substantially less money than than an equivalent seniority JB pilot. Assuming there is a contract increase in the cards as a result of this purchase does that mean the NK pilots can expect to see some kind of retroactive pay when the dust settles?
In short, no. We are not Jet Blue pilots until there is a JCBA and the merger passes regulatory approval. We negotiated our existing contract, and we are opening section 6 talks for a new contract should the merger go sideways. Our compensation is on us until the date the JCBA takes over.
