Management has openly said they want a mandatory age 65. That said, there is already one lawsuit working itself through the system for denying someone over 65 a check airman position and there will surely be many more lawsuits to settle things unless a law is passed to accomplish this. They have tried multiple times to get it included in various bills going through the government, but have been rejected each time so far. Most likely there will be an age limit at some point, but it is hard to say when that will be. The group overall probably averages well into the 50s, but there is massive hiring currently and planned well into the future that will bring the average way down. There are probably around 1000 pilots that will retire in the next decade even without a mandatory age limit. Age 65 tomorrow would probably get around 300 or so.
