How is that a lie? I have
hard evidence to support this:

(1)
Connect's initial plan was to exploit cheap foreign labor.
"
ALPA noted that Connect Airlines, by seeking to hire Canadian crew, could "hire crew at cheaper rates." The benefit comes from airlines that reduced their workforce, leaving more pilots looking for jobs. This leads the union to claim that Connect Airlines is circumventing US pay scales and market competition forces by using Canadian labor."

Personally, I think this is a sleazy approach which shows that the airline does not value its employees and will see them as commodities when the market allows.
(2)
Connect's CEO was fired from his role at Virgin Australia after less than a year.
"Virgin Australia's second highest ranking executive is heading for the airline's departure lounge after less than a year in the job....It's understood Virgin management decided he was not the right fit for the role."

This took 2 minutes to google, unless I'm completely missing something here this whole operation seems sketchy. If I'm wrong, then provide me with some evidence. I have no interest in this startup at all - living in the midwest, commuting makes zero sense especially when you have
no jumpseat agreements or CASS. Despite this, I have a vested interest in the state of the industry and based on your attitude (assuming you are representative of the kind of people in leadership at Connect), I would caution any pilots living in the PHL/ORD areas against considering this operation.
