Its one thing to commute if you're married with children and a mortgage and can't afford to move, or don't want to for QOL reasons related to your family.

Its another thing entirely to subject yourself to a transcon commute as a single twentysomething with no obligations keeping you in a certain location.

Commuting = PAIN. Its neato to ride as a passenger round-trip once a week at first but after a couple missed commutes, last-second bumps and cancellations torpedoing your plans you'll quickly see IT AIN'T WORTH IT. Not when you have options...
