I would trip trade to spread the trips out.
If you jump into and out of trips then no need for hotel on front and back ends. Otherwise, a lot of commuters keep a Crashpad for this. I don’t mind an occasional hotel if it saves me a commute in the bid period.
Usually my trip trade ends up with a lovely message saying, "denied due to insufficient reserve coverage." And with new hires going to ANC, I wouldn't suggest jumping straight into a trip.
