11 years ago, while still in bankruptcy, American Airlines was allowed to merge with US Airways despite route overlaps to become the biggest airline in the world with nary a concern for anti monopoly considerations.. The US government has paid billions to maintain the US airlines through COVID and it does nobody any good from an anti-monopoly standpoint to have NK disappear altogether. So current management can kind of run things into the ground and that only reinforces the fact that NK needs to be in the hands of better management.
And once B6 takes over and ashcans the abysmally low first year pay, the recruiting and retention will improve.
