You MUST have flight currency. I think they need at least 100 hours in a year. One extremely qualified candidate, because of a furlow, did not have 100 hours and FedEx refused to hire the candidate despite many of us writing emails and putting in good words.

I tell all of my friends who are thinking of applying to start the process at least one year prior to getting out (if they are in the military).

Currency has shifted to a 24 month look back. I was 14 months out of the plane during my interview this spring.
