I don't understand your point. If you are at the bottom of either list, you will be at the bottom of the combined list. THAT'S JUST HOW IT WORKS! And if you're at the bottom, because you are junior, why would you care how the senior and mid-senior guys get integrated??? It doesn't matter and newbs don't care as it doesn't affect them.
I don't think you have a dog in this fight and are just here stirring up drama.
