If they are unused, they turn into supplemental vacation days. They can then be used as IVD, just as any other future vacation days.
But, I do not believe you get any
additional instances of IVD usage - it’s still 2 instances of up to 4 total days
(However, if - repeat IF - your category uses less than 5.5 or 6% of sick for the year, aka “the sick leave contest, you get another 2 or 1 IVD instance respectively).
