Just an update for the new hires so you are clear about the current sitcheation over here at 9E.
200 new hires, expect to sit reserve for 14-18 months with the extremely slim chance you may catch a line for 1 or 2 of those months. That may change a bit because all the 200 pilots we hired 14-18 months are starting to jump ship to the 900 like rats on a sinking ship. Remember if you are a commuter and sit reserve for any lengthy period of time you are going to experience anywhere from $800-$1000 per month in lost earnings. (Crash pad and per diem, trig/and coming soon drig). Ultimately, you have to make the best decision for you, I just want to make sure your expectations are realistic as to the two pilot groups currently at 9E. Since we are all generally trying to grow our careers, remember 14-18 months of reserve on the 200 with a conservative estimate will get you about 300 hours of flight time. This may have been acceptable in years past, however when every other pilot (including new hires) in the regional industry are doing 800-900 and the ambitious ones 1000 hours per year, then you can see why this lends to be egregious.
