In this day and age pax pilots do not have to intervene with pax issues, either at the gate or in flight. They don't want you to do that, and it's an exceptionally bad idea anyway. Shut the door and call for the station to deal with it.
We move planes. Yes, I get that. I’m more or less on the same sheet of music there. But a certain company has had VP level encouragement for inflight to write up pilots, with a corresponding increase in union effort to defend the pilots.
