Look all, I appreciate my very short time at Allegiant, and the crews have been mostly good to work with.

But “home every night” is code for “you’re gonna work more and you’re gonna be gone more” in a way that it’s hard to explain. Know that I’m one of the pilots who does move to junior bases to capitalize on seniority, not sitting in IWA, LAS, FL at the bottom of the list. I pity those pilots.

4-leggers on 12 hour duty days for 5.2 hours of block and a schedule that’s scattershot is tough. Additionally, dropping and trading trips is near impossible due to the scheduling. I will never understand why I have 3on-1off-1on-2off and someone else gets screwed as well with the inverse trip. Then you can’t trade out cause it breaks 117 rules in the present but not the end. I legitimately think the company has to manage this, along with LTD and a focus on retirement to be standard.

They won’t. And that’s why I’m leaving.
