Ok, so knowing that. Why does the company allow for the largest bases to be in “undesirable” cities? Why are the Florida bases so small? Why is LAX so small? No mid west base (Austin was a possibility until we blew it)?
We talked about virtual basing so we can build pairings out of smaller cities.
well it's no secret that JB liked to geographically hire around there base system, and how are you or I to say NY and BOS are undesirable. We have plenty of pilots who stay for the BOS base. As for LAX it has grown tremendously in the past 2 years, yes the pairing stink but upgrade has gone down to around 11years and it's pretty easy for a 1st year bus pilot to bid it as FO. FLL has grown immensely as well, from Captains perspective it appears that they have shrunk the flying out of BOS.
