It’s hyperbole, you ever heard of it? (And that’s sarcasm). But it’s laced with truth. What do you want… for everyone to use strictly literal terms with every input they make? Let’s all be robots. What a fun world that would be. But to the man’s point, management has exploited this profession to a point that many feel
we’re not being rewarded in terms of pay and QOL with respect to the amount of responsibility, skills, experience, and our own investments in this career. Management has made it where it takes 15 years (until just recently) on average to “make it”. And when you finally do “make”, life sucks, pay is just barley enough to keep you holding on, and everyone says “well, just pay your dues and in another 10 or 15 years you’re going to be set”.
