Interesting times..
MESA was not leading the way in pattern bargaining. Don't ascribe such platitudes to that company. MESA has been negotiating for years. They got a TA that was released to the pilots and while the voting was open the AA regional carriers all got their two-year massive deals to help against the loss of pilots to other airlines that weren't AA. Ornstein is a d-bag who has a history of not wanting to negotiate. Did anyone see the Aviation Sub-Committee hearing held in Arizona with Sen. Sinema? Ornstein was there along with our MEC Secretary Paul Ryder who I understand is intimately familiar with the issues at the regional carriers. Ornstein was basically crying to Sinema that the 1500 hour rule is killing him and his ability to get pilots. CommutAir and Air Whisky jump on the bandwagon of hire pay and MESA is left scrambling. He had no choice and I can guarantee is not pleased at all. Guess what? After two years what is the solution for all these carriers?? It starts all over again because in 2024 the retirements and hiring at majors are going to be more not less.
