JCBA 1, LOA 19, and JCBA 2 happened before the SLI, so I don’t see how they apply to the case. Letter 19 was the natural and proper response to the actions of the Northwest MEC; the answer to any ultimatum must be “no.” The Northwest pilots certainly over estimated the character of Dave Stevens.
