while that is a good point, I’m gonna be honest I wish there was a minimum time at DL requirement to upgrade. We have had people who finished new hire OE that week get awarded CA. While that’s great for them it would probably help everyone including their FOs if all CAs had at least a few hundred hours in the right seat at Delta to get the flow of how things work here.
but it seems to be working so if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

1 Just because they were awarded it doesn’t mean they moved that week so making it sound like they have never flow with Delta is a bit over the top.
2 In the Feb AE a guy was awarded the left seat NYC73N and he wasn’t done with OE. A ton of guys were saying how it was setting him up to fail, but what most people didn’t realize he had 6k hours on the same plane at a prior company operating out of NY. Not surpassing, he hasn’t even started upgrade training.
3. For some this job is task saturating constantly and for others it’s easy money. To each their own on when they upgrade, each person who bids the left seat hopefully has done enough self reflection to decide they have the abilities.
