not suggesting that person is unqualified or under qualified , just that getting a few hundred hours at DL might be a good thing, which as you pointed out he probably did because of the time between award and training.

I would think just about everyone we hire is capable of upgrading pretty quickly. It’s not being a captain/ aircraft commander that’s the new part, it’s just the way delta runs things that’s probably different.
