Experience is extremely important and by no means I’m knocking it down, I upgraded after 5 years on property and mind you I had thousands of hours on Airbus and Boeing aircraft before I even came to Delta. However, it’s the brutal, fatiguing domestic schedules that we should all be worried about and not one year upgrades. Delta will teach you what you need to know and you will learn yourself very quickly. Our ATC and airspace system is top notch compared to the rest of the world and we have a lot of help and guidance as pilots here. But it’s the fatigue and scheduling abuse that will get you.
