You do realize that regular line-flying regional Captains are making more than our junior narrowbody Captains at legacies right? When I was at my regional it was not too difficult to credit 130-140 hours /month. And you could do that most any month you wanted to. So line-flying regional Captains can easily earn $300,000+ /year right now. Our junior Captains are earning far less than that. Regional LCAs? Some are earning $500,000+ /year.

So no… Regional pilots are NOT making considerably less than legacy pilots. Why legacy pilots aren’t pushing to have all of the regional flying absorbed at this point is mind boggling to me. Legacy pilots are squabbling over 20% raises over 3 years (AA ) and Tumi bags. Meanwhile 20% STILL won’t allow most junior FOs and junior CAs at legacies to out-earn regional pilots.
