They DO wear out but at 40-60 bucks a pair they're definitely what we regional pilots need.
As an FO I could expect a pair to last 12-18 months without trouble and I'm thinking double that as a CA now that I don't have to walk through glycol 6 times a day.
I second this ^^^^^^^^^^. The Bostonian flex lite is a descent shoe. However ,I might add the nunn bush bleaker street . Very comfy , durable , security compliant and high gloss shine.
