Sounds like an awesome question for your chief pilot. They write the manuals, theymake the rules. If someone can’t get a new jacket within 3 months, sounds like it’s an easy email to Rodosta and ask what his office wants pilots to do. Seems if I were a probationary pilot I would much rather get the answer from my boss vs going Costco because the interwebs said so.
It’s really not that hard. If they don’t have the piece available, you ask your boss what his plan is. If he says “wear Costco” then wear Costco, they write the manuals.
But if I were probationary, I would like to get my boss’ views before I color outside the lines. No matter how much forum folk say to do it.
