You would sit down in the crew room. There was a landline, someone would answer it and take a message or you would yell around for whoever the phone call was for. If you were going to go get food, you would let everyone know where you were gonna be, and to take a message. That was for standby.
Short call from home, yea you just sat by the landline all day
