While on short-call, I've gone skiing at a resort that didn't have cell service on most of the mountain (at the time). Gave scheduling the phone number for the lift-shack and told the lifties to put up a sign in the window if I needed to call. They got a nice bottle out of that deal and I got paid to ski.
