It doesn't matter if he left it out or not. The back to work LOA also stated that EVERY crewmember be made whole. Therefore, Captains put back in their spots and Flight Engineers. The F.O.'s have been taken care of.
It's triggered by what Springer said in his previous post. Cato and the gang have not made this a COMPLETE AND OPERATIONAL MERGER. That's pretty black and white. Again, make sure all of the facts are there before taking a sentence like the media does and chopping it up to get the interpretation you need. If management would play by the rules like we have to and 5Y has to, it wouldn't even be an issue.
We have to protect our scope. There's no reason 5Y shouldn't agree that if this goes through that the pilots stay with their own certificate if and only if the certificate is sold. Why your MEC couldn't agree to this is beyond me. Oh, I know, because they would reap the benefits of the Polar certificate by moving on. If you kick a dog back into a corner enough times they are bound to come out biting at the hand that feeds them. As I have been kicked around by management and "cram down contracts" in a previous life my teeth are showing. However, I do have my shots up to date.
Now to get back to the original thread: Who knows what hiring plans will be. Here is something to consider and only my opinion. If we are allowed to continue on as a stand alone carrier there will be yet another hearing on the who does what flying. The Atlas side was just given two 400's to do DHL flying (Wilmington, Anchorage, Hong Kong, I think). Our MEC believes that this is Polar flying. I'm not going to discuss this one so let it go Beagle. LOL So stay tuned and see what happens. They're hiring fifty F.O's and 18 upgrades to support this flying so it seems as though something would have to give if all the stars aligned about a year down the road and this flying awarded to the other side. Right now I would wait and see. The current arbitration regarding a merged seniority list will be able to shed some more light on coming to work here without worrying about a furlough.
