We should have started the process so as to be TA complete on the amendable date.
We had early openers. 6 months prior to amendable date. Did you forget that or just choose not to post that fact? Getting to an agreement takes the companies willingness to get to that point within the early bargaining period. At my previous legacy we had one year early openers. They are still in negotiations. Having early openers doesn’t guarantee any quicker of a process. To get early openers you have to have both parties agree to it also. You can say you want openers two years ahead of time but that doesn’t mean the other side will agree or that it will get you done any faster. Ask all the other majors that have been in negotiations for three or four years. Ask SWA who after almost 3 years of negotiations filed for mediation today.
