Every last one of you should be reminded that no one here asked to be an "Essential worker". We were assigned this designation and carried on in the face of a global pandemic. While this company raked in record breaking revenues WE were out there at risk. While you may personally think Covid was a hoax or over blown, the reality is that we had young healthy colleagues that came to work only to return home in a casket. That's what we are talking about here. Never before has their been a more direct unassailable linkage between worker contributions and profitability. That is what our contribution has been to the success of this company and while this company's leadership has offered attaboys and platitudes its time for their deeds to match their words. We should accept nothing less.
Leadership is about choices. Fedex management has made plain who and what they value. While half the world was sitting at home getting paid to shelter in place they CHOSE to take the capital generated by their "essential workers" and do a stock buy back. Now you're on TV poor mouthing and crying about the future in a cynical effort to frighten that same labor force and justify cost cutting?!!! G T F O H!
Ladies in Gentleman THIS is your adversary. OUTRAGEOUS.
Very well said, Thank you. Every pilot needs to call their reps.
I agree, management's use of page one, paragraph one of the playbook again should be very easy for all pilots to see. It should strengthen our resolve. Perhaps the company will go to the NMB asking for help instead of coming to the table just like they did in the past? Time will tell.
We all should be inoculated against this by now. Same song, same dance. Sad they think so little of us.
Again, very well said.
