This is the very last thing that the neg. com. said. It sounds as though there is significant work left on the hard stuff. Which is how Alaska Airlines inc always negotiates….Ben and Shane still want a “Deal”…Like they are at the car lot. Does not sound imminent in any way…OTZ needs to smoke a little muktuk and back it down…
I think everyone should listen to the podcast and read the most recent email sent out by the NC Friday. It sounds like things are settled but there is a ton of admin work to do. The proposals have to be modeled to see how they work in all of the complex situations they are put through in our dynamic work environment. The language has to be finalized so a tank can't be driven through it the way our old contract seems to work. The MEC has to review everything and decide to put it out for a vote. It's going to take a long time for us to get educated on this contract and MEC officers will all have to be extensively briefed, if things are finalized before they vote. The NC has said almost dozens of times per podcast episode they don't want to hurry up and finish they want to get this right and also be as efficient as possible. It doesn't sound like they are going to skip any steps. There is a strong emphasis that this is the one time to really get things right. Even if they are done with proposals and have a working set of guidelines that are completed, they still have a lot to dial in.
I'm really getting the feeling that OTZ has no idea how any of this works. Or he's used to it working the way it has in the past when things were ram rodded down the pilot groups collective gizzard. Which is why we are all in such a frankly awful situation at the moment.
