Enjoy it? I dunno. I enjoy my life, and when I look at how hard I work and the fruits of my labor (after taxes) I’m rather content. Haven’t found a country I’d rather live in and I’ve been to a few. I don’t enjoy doing laundry, going to the dentist, colonoscopies or teacher parent conferences. I happen to think all those things are necessary, though, since I’m not seven.
The original contention was that taxes are theft. Maybe they are, but every model of civilization I know of have has had some system of taxation. I feel like I get a pretty good deal myself, but I know that’s not as easy as complaining about all the things one doesn’t enjoy.
If you’ve got an economic vision of how society functions with no taxes, I’m all ears. If you’ve got an example of your theory functioning in the real world - even better! Naturally, I’m curious how defense, law enforcement, the courts, roads, bridges, space exploration, National parks, wildlife preservation, schools, courts, elections, and medical residences all get funded. Are we gonna pass the hat and see who feels like throwing in a few bucks to defend our shores when China swings by? Maybe a recurring bake sale to pay the salaries of local police and fire?
